Remote Viewing Main Page

Remote Viewing (RV), refers to the attempt to gather information about a distant or unseen target using paranormal means or extra-sensory perception. Typically a remote viewer is expected to give information about an object that is hidden from physical view and separated at some distance. The term was introduced by parapsychologists Russell Targ and Harold Puthoff in 1974.

Remote viewing was popularized in the 1990s, following the declassification of documents related to the Stargate Project, a 20 million dollar research program sponsored by the U.S. Federal Government to determine any potential military application of psychic phenomena. The program was terminated in 1995, citing a lack of documented evidence that the program had any value to the intelligence community.

Remote Viewing vs. Astral Projection

According to Dick Sutphen (from his 74-Minute Course about Astral Projection on CD), "All right, now I’m going to talk about astral projection from the perspective of REMOTE VIEWING. Is remote viewing the same as astral projection? The government remote viewers commissioned to do psychic spying for the CIA worked in a hypnogogic-theta state. Some talk of entering a fourth dimension, beyond time and space. That sure sounds like astral projection to me. I know you can successfully remote view without astral projecting, but I’m also pretty sure that some of my own remote viewing voyages turned out to be full out of body experiences. In both cases, you project to a distant location and accurately perceive things you have no other way of knowing."

Step 1 - Empty Your Mind

Perform a meditation routine to relax and clear your mind of incessant thoughts and images. Spend at least 10-15 minutes on this. Gaze into the blackness of your closed eyelids and when an image pops up, gently push it out the way. You want to create a blank movie screen on which RV images will be projected (World of Lucid Dreaming, 2009).

Step 2 - Choose a Target

A target can be a set of coordinates, a place name, a photograph, an object, or a stock ticker - anything that you can focus on specifically. Here is a selection of random remote viewing targets precisely for this purpose (World of Lucid Dreaming, 2009).

Step 3 - Focus

Once you have accessed more relaxed altered states, you are ready to begin. Repeat your target over and over in your mind. Note down any colors, shapes or movement that come to mind. The first few images are likely to come from your imagination, so ignore them. Pay attention to the ones that persist.

If you can identify the object, then it's your imagination and not the RV target, so ignore it and look for something else. Sketch any shapes, patterns, etc (World of Lucid Dreaming, 2009).

Step 4 - Reveal The Target

If your target was a price chart for the NASDAQ Index for 2009, you can see how you did when 2009 is over... If you chose a photograph (as per the link) you can reveal your target instantly. How did you do?

Score yourself on how much the two images have in common, based on a percentage scale (100% = perfect match). An image can be composed of colors, textures and movements so don't only judge the shapes. Note that you may also pick up on unknown elements outside the photo (World of Lucid Dreaming, 2009).

Remote Viewing and Lucid Dreaming

If you want to explore the potential of remote viewing, you can do so in your lucid dreams. When you are conscious in dreams, you are in the unique situation of being able to coherently access both your conscious and subconscious mind. Logic meets intuition! That is a very powerful combination, perhaps even more powerful than theta meditation. Set a target to remote view in your next lucid dream. This is also a great way to set up a lucid dreaming intention (World of Lucid Dreaming, 2009).
